El balance de blancos garantiza que los colores no se vean afectados por el color de la fuente de luz. En cualquier otro modo que no sea P, S, A y M, la cámara ajusta el balance de blancos automáticamente. Se recomienda el balance de blancos automático para la mayoría de fuentes de luz en los modos P, S, A y M, aunque podrán seleccionarse otros valores si fuese necesario en conformidad con el tipo de fuente:
