Auto Mode

Macro Mode

Macro mode is used for taking pictures of objects as close as 1 cm (0.4 in.). Note that the flash may be unable to light the entire subject at distances of less than 50 cm (1 ft 8 in.).

When using A (auto) mode, follow the procedure below. Macro mode can also be used with some scene modes (A 39, 40, 41).

1Press p (macro mode) on the multi selector.

The macro menu is displayed.

2Press the multi selector Hor Ito select ON,

and press the kbutton.

The macro mode icon (F) is displayed.

If a setting is not applied by pressing the k button within a few seconds, the selection is cancelled.

3 Turn the zoom control until the zoom position reaches the position where Fand the zoom indicator glow green.

How close you can be to the subject when shooting

 

depends on the zoom position. When the zoom position

 

is set to a position where Fand the zoom indicator glow

green, the camera can focus on subjects as close as about

7 cm (2.8 in.) from the lens.

When the zoom position is in the area indicated by 1, the camera can focus on objects as close as about 1 cm (0.4 in.) from the lens.
