Available Flash Modes

UAuto

The flash fires automatically when lighting is dim.

VAuto with red-eye reduction

Reduces red-eye in portraits caused by the flash (A 56).

X Fill flash

The flash fires whenever a picture is taken. Use to “fill-in” (illuminate) shadows and backlit subjects.

Y Slow sync

Auto flash mode is combined with slow shutter speed.

Suited to evening and night portraits that include background scenery. The flash illuminates main subject; slow shutter speeds are used to capture background at night or under dim lighting.

• Lower the flash when you do not want the flash to fire. When the flash is lowered, Wis

displayed in the monitor to indicate that the flash does not fire. ShootingFeatures
