File number (assigned automatically in ascending order, starting with “0001”)

A folder for storing files will be automatically created using the following naming convention: 'Folder number + NIKON' (e.g., '100NIKON'). If there are 200 files in the folder, a new folder will be created. (For example, the folder name following '100NIKON' will be '101NIKON'. In this case, the file number starts from 201.)

When the number of files within a folder reaches 9999 or Reset file numbering (A174) is performed, a new folder will be created.

File numbers will be assigned automatically starting with '0001'. If the folder contains no files, a new folder will not be created even if Reset file numbering is performed.

Voice memo file names have the same identifier and file number as the picture to which the voice memo is attached.

Files are stored in folders named with a folder number followed by a five- character identifier: “P_” plus a three-digit sequence number for pictures shot using Panorama assist (e.g., “101P_001”) (A53).

Each time a picture is taken in Interval timer shooting (A87), a folder named with the convention: 'Folder number + INTVL' (e.g., 101INTVL) is created.
