Basic Camera Setup

uDigital Zoom

Tap the bottom tab (A 143) M Tap z (Setup menu) M uDigital zoom

Enable or disable digital zoom.

On (default setting)

When the camera is zoomed in to the maximum optical zoom position, rotating the zoom control to g (i) triggers digital zoom (A 29).

Off

Digital zoom will not be activated (except during recording movies).

BNotes on Digital Zoom

•When digital zoom is in effect, the camera focuses at the center of the frame.

•Digital zoom cannot be used in the following situations.

-Subject tracking is selected for the touch shooting setting

-When Portrait or Night portrait scene mode is selected

-When smart portrait mode is selected

-When Multi-shot 16 (A 58) is selected

iSound Settings

Tap the bottom tab (A 143) M Tap z (Setup menu) M iSound settings

Adjust the following sound settings.

Button sound

Select On (default setting) or Off.

When On is selected, a beep will sound once when operations are completed successfully, twice when the camera acquires focus on the subject, and three times when an error is detected. Start-up sound will also play when the camera is turned on.

Shutter sound

Select On (default setting) or Off.

No sound is played with shutter release when some features such as continuous shooting or BSS (best shot selector) are enabled, or when recording movies, even if On is selected.
