Cabling the Switch

Power Cord Requirements

WARNING:

1. Do not modify the AC power cord if it is not the exact type that is required for your power outlet.

2.Before you connect the power cord to the back panel of the Switch, ensure that the voltage selector switch is correctly set to the appropriate AC line source voltage. See page 2-2.

Current Rating

CAUTION: You should protect your Switch by plugging it into a surge suppressor.

The power cord must be rated for the available AC voltage, and it must have a current rating which is at least 125 percent of the Switch's current rating. See the “Physical, Electrical” specifications on page A-1.

Wall Outlet Connector

The power cord must be terminated in a male plug with appropriate grounding. The power cord must have certification marks from an acceptable

regional agency.

Power Supply Connector

The connector that you plug into the Switch power supply AC receptacle must be an IEC 320, Sheet C13, female.

Cord Length and Flexibility

The power cord must be less than 4.5 meters (14.7 feet) long, and it must be a flexible HAR (harmonized) cord or VDE-certified cordage to comply with the Switch's safety certifications.
