Depending on how Microsoft ActivSync is configured, you may lose wireless network connectivity when you cradle your device. If this happens, you can reestablish a connection by logging off and logging on again. Your data traffic is then transmitted over the USB connection. To reconnect to the wireless networks after un-cradling your device, repeat the logging on/off process.

You can change the settings that control network connectivity while the device is cradled. For more information, See Updating Microsoft ActiveSync.
