Changing passwords 65

Prerequisites

You must use an account with read/write/all privileges to change passwords. For security, the switch saves passwords to a hidden file. The optional parameter password is the password associated with the user name or logon name.

Procedure steps

Change a password by using the following command:

config cli password

Variable definitions

Use the data in the following table to use the config cli password command.

access level is an integer

 

from 2–8.

 

enabledisable enables or

 

disables the chosen level.

 

 

aging <days>

Configures the time limit for

 

passwords. daysis the age-out

 

time as an integer from 1–365.

 

 

default-lockout-time <secs>

Changes the default lockout time

 

after three invalid attempts. secs

 

is the lockout time in seconds

 

and is in the 60–6500 range. The

 

default is 60 seconds.

 

 

info

Shows the level parameter

 

settings and the next level

 

directories.
