Your DV-CP706 is now ready for use. See page 25 for information on loading discs, and page 26 for informa- tion on selecting and playing discs.

Notes:

You can cancel the Initial Setup by pressing the OPEN/CLOSE [ ] button, and complete the settings later by using the on-screen setup menus (see

page 49).

You can change the language of the on-screen setup menus, and your preferred languages for DVD menus, foreign language soundtracks, and subtitles individu- ally on the Language page of the on-screen setup menus (see page 47).

Depending on the connected CEC-compatible TV, some of the DV-CP706’s settings may change when RIHD is on.

Not all DVD-Video discs have multi-language menus, foreign language soundtracks, and subtitles. In such cases, the disc’s default language is used.

RESOLUTION

Setting the HDMI

This section explains how to turn HDMI on and off and change the video resolution when your TV or projector is connected to the HDMI OUT.

Press the [RESOLUTION] button

 

 

to turn HDMI on or off.

 

If HDMI is off, “HDMI OFF” appears

 

on the display the first time the button is

 

pressed. Press the button again while

 

“HDMI OFF” is displayed to turn on

 

HDMI.

 

To turn off HDMI, press and hold the

 

[RESOLUTION] button.

While “HDMI ON” is displayed,

 

Remote controller press the [RESOLUTION] button on the remote controller repeat-

edly to change the HDMI resolu- tion.

The fist button press displays the cur- rent resolution on-screen. Press the but- ton again while the resolution is displayed to change the setting. The DV-CP706 supports the following res- olutions:

Auto:

The resolution is automatically set to the native resolution of the TV connected to the HDMI OUT.

480p(480p/576p):

The setting displayed depends on the country in which you purchased the DV-CP706.

720 × 480p 60Hz or 720 × 576p 50Hz

480i(480i/576i):

The setting displayed depends on the country in which you purchased the DV-CP706.

720 × 480i 60Hz or 720 × 576i 50Hz

720p:

1280 × 720p 50/60Hz

1080i:

1920 × 1080i 50/60Hz

1080p:

1920 × 1080p 50/60Hz

Tip:

These settings can also be changed by using the on- screen setup menus (see page 45).

Note:

Depending on your setup, you may find that there’s no picture when you turn on HDMI. In this case, you need to check the HDMI resolution setting and your TV’s settings. If there is no picture, press the [RESO- LUTION] button repeatedly until the picture reap- pears.
