INSTALLATION PROCEDURES FOR SIMPSON DURA-VENT DIRECT VENT SYSTEM

SNORKEL TERMINATIONS: For installations requiring a vertical rise on the exterior of the building, 14” (355mm) and a 36” (914mm) tall Snorkel Termination Caps are available.

Follow the same installation procedures as used for Horizontal Termination.

NEVER install the snorkel upside down. IMPORTANT: Proper drainage must be provided to prevent water from entering the Snorkel Termination Cap.

NOTES:

If the Snorkel Termination is installed BELOW GRADE, IE basement application, proper drainage must be provided to prevent water from entering the Snorkel Termination.

Do not attempt to enclose the Snorkel in the wall or any other type of enclosure.

For Snorkel Terminations ABOVE GRADE installations follow national or local code re- quirements.
