Basic

You cannot use the following functions. -High angle mode

-Exposure compensation

-[D.ZOOM]

-[BURST]

-[COL.MODE]

You cannot set the following items.

-[TRAVEL DATE]

-[WORLD TIME]

The Backlight Compensation

Backlight refers to when light comes from the back of a subject.

In this case, the subject, such as a person, will become dark so this function

compensates the backlight by brightening

the whole of the picture. Press •.

When the backlight compensation function is activated, [Q] (compensating backlight ON indication

(_) appears. Press • again to cancel this function.

Taking Pictures with

the Zoom

You can make people and objects appear closer and landscapes can be recorded in wide angle with the 3x optical zoom.

(35 mm film camera equivalent 35 mm to

105 mm)

Set the picture size to something other than the highest setting for each aspect ratio

[_/_]_l/_]to make subjects appear additionally closer with no picture quality deterioration [Maximum of 4.5 × (DMC-FX12)/4.1 × (DMC-FXl0)].

To make subjects appear closer use (Tele)

Rotate the zoom lever towards Tele.

We recommend using the flash when you use the backlight compensation function. (The flash is fixed to Forced ON [O].)

The flash setting is fixed to AUTO/Red-eye

reduction [_ ] when the backlight compensation function is set to [OFF].

To make subjects appear further away use (Wide)

Rotate the zoom lever towards Wide.
