Do not press the LCD monitor wi th excessive force. Uneven col or s may appear on the LCD
monitor and it may malfunction.
If the camera is cold when you turn it on, the picture on the LCD monitor will be slightly darker
than usual at first. However, the picture will return to normal brightness when the internal
temperature of the c amera increases.
Do not press the len s with excessive force.
Do not leave the cam era with the lens faci ng the sun as rays of light from the sun may cause it
to malfunction. Also, be careful w hen placing the camera outside or ne ar a window.
The battery is a rechargeable lithium ion battery. Its ability to generate power comes
from the chemical reaction that takes place inside it. This reaction is susceptible to
the surrounding temperature and hum idity. If the temperature is too high or too low,
the operating time of the battery will become sho rter.
Always remove the battery after use.
Store the removed battery in the batt e r y case (supplied).
If you drop the battery accidental ly, check to see if the
body of the battery and the terminals are damaged .
Inserting a damaged battery in the camera will damage the
camera.
Bring charged spare batteries when going out.
Be aware that the opera ting time of the battery becomes shorter in
low temperature conditio ns such as at a ski resort.
When you travel, do not forget to b ring the battery charger (sup pl i ed ) so that you can charge
the battery in the country that yo u are traveling in.
Dispose of unusable batt ery.
The battery has a limited life.
Do not throw the bat tery into fire bec a use it may cause an ex pl o s i o n.
The unusable battery should b e discarded in accordance wit h battery recycling laws. Call t he
RBRC hotline at 1-800-822- 883 7 for information.
Do not allow battery terminals to come into contact with m etal objects (such as
necklaces, hairpin s et c .) .
This can cause short circuiti ng or heat generation and you may be ba dly burned if you touch a
battery.
About the LCD monitor
Extremely high precision technology is employed to prod uce the LCD monitor sc reen.
However, ther e may be some dark or brigh t spots (red, blue or green) on the screen.
This is not a ma lfunction. The L CD monitor scree n has more than 99.99% effective
pixels with a me re 0.01% of the p ixels inactive or always lit. The spots will not be
recorded on pict ures on the buil t-in memory or a c ard.
