Operations during play

	Press [g].
	The stopped position is memorized.
	Resume play function
Stop	Press [q] (PLAY) to restart from this position.
	The stopped position is cleared when:
	–you press [g] several times.
	–you open the tray.
	–				and MP3
		DVD-A	CD	VCD
	you turn the unit off.

Pause	Press [h].
	Press again or press [q] (PLAY) to restart play.
	Press [t] or [y].
	• The speed increases up to 5 steps (									up to 3 steps).
					+R		+R DL		+RW
Search	• Press [q] (PLAY) to restart play.
	• Audio is heard during first level search forward.
			(excluding motion picture parts)					and MP3
		DVD-A				CD
	Audio is heard during all levels of search.
	• Depending on the disc, searching may not be possible.
Skip	During play or while paused, press [u] or [i].
	The unit will skip titles, chapters, or tracks according to the number of times the button is
	pressed and play will begin.
	Press the numbered buttons.
	Play starts from the selected title, chapter or track.
	MP3/JPEG
		e.g., 5:		[0] Ô [0] Ô [0] Ô [5]
	15:			[0] Ô [0] Ô [1] Ô [5]

If you press the numbered buttons while stopped (the above screen saver is displayed on the television) you can cancel PBC. (Elapsed play time appears on the unit’s display.)

Quick View RAM				Press and hold [q] (PLAY/x1.3).
				Play speed is quicker than normal.
				• Press again to return to normal speed.
Slow-motion				While paused, press [t] or [y].
RAM	-R -R DL -RW(V)	+R	+R DL	• The speed increases up to 5 steps.
+RW	DVD-V			• Press [q] (PLAY) to restart play.
				• VCD Forward direction [y] only.
DVD-A(Motion picture parts only)
				• The unit will pause if slow-motion play is continued for approximately 5 minutes
-RW(VR) VCD					(excluding DVD-V DVD-A VCD ).
Frame-by-frame				While paused, press [w h] or [h q].
RAM	-R -R DL -RW(V)	+R	+R DL	• Each press shows the next frame.
+RW	DVD-V			• Press and hold to change in succession forward or backward.
				• Press [q] (PLAY) to restart play.
DVD-A(Motion picture parts only)
				•	VCD	Forward direction [	] only.

Skipping the specified				1	Press [TIME SLIP].
time (Time Slip)				2	Press [e,r] to select the time and press [ENTER].
				Play skips the specified time.
RAM	-R -R DL -RW(V)	+R	+R DL
				• Each time you press [e,r], the time increases [e] or decreases [r] by 1 minute intervals.
+RW	-RW(VR)				(Press and hold for 10-minute intervals.)
Manual Skip				Press [MANUAL SKIP].
RAM	-R -R DL -RW(V)	+R	+R DL	Play restarts from approximately 30 seconds later.
+RW	-RW(VR)
Create Chapter RAM				Press [CREATE CHAPTER].
				Chapters are divided at the point pressed.
(Ô page 30, Title/Chapter)				• Press [u,i] to skip to the start of a chapter.
				• You cannot create chapters when the unit is in EXT LINK standby.
