2.7Case 5: FAX with PC MODEM (one phone number)

2.7.1 Your situation

You wish to use a computer connected via MODEM and the fax machine on a single telephone line.

The fax machine and the computer are in the same room and you do not want the computer to answer incoming calls automatically.

Note:

LIf you are subscribed to an xDSL service, fax transmission/reception may be disturbed, or you may hear interference noise during telephone conversation. A filter to prevent this is provided from your service company. Please attach the filter to the telephone line cord of the fax machine.
