Preparation

 

 

 

pTurn off TV while using radio since noise may occur.

pPress [THEATER] to switch the remote control to operate this unit.

Manual tuning

1Press [FM/AM] to select the “FM” or “AM”.

2Press [] or [] to select the

frequency of the required station.

TUNED: Displayed when a radio

 

station is tuned.

ST:

Displayed when a stereo FM

 

broadcast is being received.

Press and hold [] or [] until the frequency starts scrolling to start automatic tuning. Tuning stops when a station is found.

3Adjust the volume with [AB VOLUME].

w If noise is excessive

Press [FM MODE].

Each time you press the button:

FM: Changes between stereo and forced monaural.

AM: BP1 BP2 BP3 BP4 (BPNBeat Proof)

Select between BP1 and BP4 that receives good reception. The FM mode is cancelled when you change the frequency.

Preset tuning

Preset channels to make selection simple.

Up to 30 stations can each be set in the FM and AM bands.

Automatic presetting

1Press [FM/AM] to select the “FM” or “AM”.

2Press [] or [] to tune to the

lowest frequency.

FM: 87.9 MHz or 87.5 MHz

AM: 520 kHz

3Press and hold [ENTER].

Release the button when “AUTO FM” or “AUTO AM” is lit on the display.

The tuner presets all the stations it can receive into the channels in ascending order.

p“SET OK” is displayed when the stations are set. The last station to be set is then played.

pThe unit of display is MHz for FM radio and kHz for AM radio when the selector is in FM/AM mode.

p“ERROR” is displayed

Presetting was unsuccessful. Preset manually.

Manual presetting

1Tune to the station (left).

2Press [ENTER].

3While “MEMO” is flashing on the display

Press the numbered buttons or [9 : CH] to select a channel and press [ENTER].

e.g., “2”: [0] [2] “12”: [1] [2]

The station occupying a channel is erased if another station is preset in that channel.

Selecting channels

1Press [FM/AM] to select “FM” or “AM”.

2Press the numbered buttons or

[9 : CH] to select the channel.

e.g., “2”: [0] [2] “12”: [1] [2]

[Note]

If there is nearby electrical interference during auto tuning the frequency may come to a halt without locating a channel. Turn off the power of the nearby electrical equipment.

w Use FM outdoor antenna if radio reception is poor.

pDisconnect the FM indoor antenna.

pThe antenna should be installed by a competent technician.

[Note]

pDisconnect the outdoor antenna when the unit is not in use. pDo not use the outdoor antenna during an electrical storm.

The step is factory-set to 0.2 MHz, but you can change it to receive broadcasts allocated 0.1-MHz steps.

1 Press [FM/AM] to select “FM”.

2 Press and hold [w] on the main unit.

After a few seconds the display changes to show the current minimum frequency. Continue to hold the button down. The minimum frequency changes and the step is changed.

To return to the original step, repeat the above steps.
