When turning the TV on/off/to standby, you
hear a creaking sound from the TV chassis:
No action is required . The creaking sound •
is normal expansion and co ntraction of
the TV as it cools and war ms up. This
does not impact perfo rmance.
When the TV is in standby mode, a startup
splash screen is displayed, then returns to
standby mode.
This is normal behavior. The s tartup •
screen is displayed when th e TV is
disconnected from the m ains and
reconnected.
TV channel issues
Previously installed channels do not appear in
the channel list:
Check that the correc t channel list is •
selected.
No digital channels were found during the
installation:
Check that the TV suppor ts DVB-C in •
your country. See the liste d countries/
cities on the back of the TV.
9 TroubleshootingThis section describes commonly encountered
issues and accompanying solutions.
General TV issues
The TV does not switch on:
Disconnect the power cab le from the •
power outlet. Wait for one mi nute then
reconnect it.
Check that the power cable is s ecurely •
connected.
Check that the power switc h at the •
bottom/back of the TV i s switched on.
The TV does not respond to remot e control
or side controls when switched o n.
The TV requires som e time to start up. •
During this time, the T V will not respond
to the remote control or side co ntrols.
This is normal behavior.
The remote control is not working properly:
Check that the remote contr ol batteries •
are correctly inse rted according to the
+/- orientation.
Replace the remote control b atteries if •
they are at or weak.
Clean the remote control a nd TV sensor •
lens.
The standby light on the TV blinks red:
Disconnect the power cab le from the •
power outlet. Wait until t he TV cools
down before reconnect ing the power
cable. If the blinking r eoccurs, contact
Philips Consumer Care .
You forgot the code to unlock the child lock
feature
Enter ‘8888’. •
The TV menu is in the wrong language.
Change the TV menu to your pr eferred •
language.
