Troubleshooting

WARNING

Under no circumstances should you try to repair the system yourself, as this will invalidate the warranty. Do not open the system as there is a risk of electric shock.

If a fault occurs, first check the points listed below before taking the system for repair. If you are unable to remedy a problem by following these hints, consult your dealer or Philips for help.

Problem

No power

No picture

Distorted picture

‘Snowing’ effect when using HDMI or DVI connection

TV display a ‘blank’ or ‘distorted’ screen after you switch the resolution on the {High Def-Video}.

Completely distorted picture or black/white picture with DVD

No sound or distorted sound

Picture freezes momentarily during playback

No audio at digital output

Solution

Check if the AC power cord is properly connected.

Press the STANDBY ON B on the front of the DVD Player to turn on the power.

Refer to your TV’s manual for correct Video In channel selection. Change the TV channel until you see the DVD screen.

Check if the TV is switched on.

Sometimes a small amount of picture distortion may appear, depending on the disc being played.This is not a malfunction.

Check if your HDMI is faulty or properly connected.

Check if your device supports HDCP.

TV is incompitable with the resolution you chose.

You may change to resolution of the player by connecting your TV to any of the interlace connector of the DVD player.

Connect DVD Player directly to the TV.

Make sure the disc is compatible with the DVD Player.

Ensure that the DVD Player’s TV System is set to match that of the Disc and your TV.

Adjust the volume.

Check the audio cables and make sure both are connected secured to the TV or Stereo Audio In jacks.

Check the disc for fingerprints/scratches and clean with a soft cloth wiping from center to edge.

Check the digital connections.

Check if your receiver can decode MPEG-2 or DTS. Make sure digital output is set to PCM Only.

Check if the audio format of the selected audio language matches your receiver capabilities.
