Selecting tape position display type

If the OK button is pressed during playback and recording the current tape position (hours : minutes : seconds) is shown in the display.There are two different types of display available.

1Press the MENU button on the remote control.The on-screen menu appears

2Use =P- or ;P+ to select the option

“SPECIAL SETTINGS”	and	confirm
with OK

3Use =P- or ;P+ to select the option “COUNTER”

What types of display are available to me?

“LINEAR”:	The display	shows	the number of
	minutes of	tape	already played
	(00:00:00 - hours/minutes/seconds)

“TIME LEFT”: The display shows the playing time remaining until the end of the

cassette (00:00 - hours/minutes) PARDON?

4Use P or Q to select the desired display type and confirm with OK The screen will briefly show “STORED”

8The counter stops running when unrecorded places are found (“LINEAR” display type)

4This is normal, and is necessary for technical reasons.

8The display shows a negative playing time

4This may happen, for example, when you insert an incompletely-rewound cassette into the video recorder and rewind it to the start of the tape. Since the display is automatically reset to “00:00:00” when you insert a cassette, the actual start of the cassette for the set is less than zero - thus in the negative range. The tape position is displayed with a minus sign “-”.

shows no remaining playing time
4 The set needs a little time to calculate the
remaining playing time. After a few seconds, the
display should change from --:-- to the		PROBLEM
