7.When all information are correctly, press STATUS/EXIT . The programming information

is stored in a TIMER block.

Switching on 'VPS/PDC' in the 'START' input field

Select 'VPS/PDC' using B 1 'TURN OFF VCR FOR TIMER RECORDING' flashes on the TV screenCassette is ejected during recording CLEAR . Press '1' to switch off 'VPS/PDC' or press '2' to switch on 'VPS/PDC'.

Recording from a satellite channel [VR830] If you want to record from a satellite channel, set ‘PROG.’ SAT with ‘2’. Then, enter the satel- lite programme number with 0..9 .

8.Insert a cassette with an intact security tab (unprotected).

Using 'Tape List'

To save a recording in 'Tape List' or to use a 'Tape List' cassette, enter the cassette number using 0..9 .

You can find more information on 'Tape List' in the chapter 'Tape List'. If you don't want to use Tape List, interrupt with STANDBY/ON y .

9.Switch off with STANDBY/ON y . The pro- grammed recording will only function when the video recorder is switched off with

STANDBY/ON y .

If any of the TIMER blocks are in use, ' REC' will light up on the video recorder display.

Problems and solutions for pro- grammed recordings

The video recorder will not operate

*While a programmed recording is being made, you cannot operate your video recorder manually. If you want to cancel the programmed recording, press C/A .

'TURN OFF VCR FOR TIMER RECORDING' flashes on the TV screen

*The video recorder was switched on several min- utes before the start of a programmed recording. Switch off the video recorder with STANDBY/ON y . A programmed recording (timer) will only function if the video recorder is switched off.

Cassette is ejected during recording

*The end of the tape was reached during record- ing.

Error message: ' Error message: '  ' will flash in the video recorder display ' will flash in the video recorder display

*No cassette was inserted. Insert a cassette and switch off the video recorder using STANDBY/ON y .

Cassette was ejected as soon as the STANDBY/ON y button was pressed

*A cassette was inserted with the security tab removed.

Undo the erase protection (chapter 'Manual Recording', section 'Preventing accidental erasing of cassettes') or insert a different cassette.

Error message: 'FULL'

*If this error message appears after pressing

Error message: 'FULL'Programming a recording (without VIDEO Plus+ system) , then all TIMER blocks are already pro- grammed. No more recordings can be pro- grammed. If you want to clear a programmed recording (TIMER block), select the programme number on TIMER LIST menu and press Manual backgroundManual background

Programming a recording (without VIDEO Plus+ system)

1.Switch on the TV. If required, select the pro- gramme number for the video recorder.

2.Press MENU . The main menu will appear.

3.Select 'TIMER' with K B Manual backgroundManual background L C . Then press

B 1 .

4.Select ONCE, DAILY, or WEEKLY recording with K B Manual backgroundManual background L C . Then press B 1 .

If any of the TIMER blocks are in use, 'FULL' will appear on the TV screen.

5.Select TIMER block with 0..9 .

Selecting once/daily/weekly recordings Use K B Manual backgroundManual background L C to select from the following options:

'ONCE': Recording once

'DAILY': Repeated daily recordings from Monday to Friday

'WEEKLY.': Repeated weekly recordings (every

week on the same day)
