HOW TO USE A PRESET PROGRAM
1. Insert the key into the console.
See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page
16.
2. Identifyyourself as user 1 or user 2.
See step 2 on page 16.
3. Select a preset program.
To select one of the fourteen preset programs,
press the Program button repeatedly; the name of
the program that you have selected (PROGRAM 1
through PROGRAM 14) will appear on the screen.
When a preset
program is se-
lected, the maxi-
mum speed and
incline settings of
the program, the
program duration,
and a profile of the
speed settings of the program will appear on the
screen. The arrow below the profile will show your
progress during the workout.
4. Startthe walking belt.
Pressthe Start button to start the program. A mo-
ment after you press the button, the treadmill will
automatically adjust to the first speed and incline
settings of the program. Hold the handrailsand
beginwalking.
Each program is divided into several one-minute
segments. One speed setting and one incline set-
ting are programmed for each segment. Note: The
same speed setting and/or incline setting may be
programmed for consecutive segments.
When the first
segment of the
workoutends, a
series of tones will
sound. If the
speed and/or incline of the treadmill is about to
change, the new speed setting and/or incline set-
ting will appear on the screen to alert you and the
arrowbelow the workout profile will then move one
positionto the right. The treadmill will automatically
adjust to the speed and incline settings pro-
grammed for the second segment.
The workout will continue in this way until the last
segmentof the profile flashes in the right display
and the last segment ends. The walking belt will
then slow to a stop.
If thespeed or incline setting is too high or too low
at anytime during the workout, you can manually
overridethe setting by pressing the Speed or
Inclinebuttons; however, when the next segment
of theworkout begins, the treadmill will auto-
maticallyadjust to the speed and incline set-
tingsfor the next segment.
To stop the workout at any time, press the Stop
button. To restartthe workout, press the Start but-
ton or the Speed increasebutton. The walking belt
willbegin to move at 1 mph. When the next seg-
mentof the workout begins, the treadmill will auto-
maticallyadjust to the speed and incline settingsfor
thenext segment.
5. Selecta display mode and follow your progress
withthe exercise information on the screen.

6. Measure your heart rate if desired.
See step 7 on page 17.
7. Turn on the fan if desired.
See step 8 on page 17.
8. Whenyou are finished exercising, remove the
key fromthe console.
