Clearing a Paper Misfeed

This section describes how to clear a paper misfeed when one occurs.

CAUTION

When removing misfed paper, do not touch the fusing

section because it could be very hot.

Important!

Hold a misfed sheet with both hands and slowly pull it out. Do not use a tool, such

as a screwdriver or tweezers as this may damage the unit.

Note

If “Clear Paper” is still displayed after you clear the jam, there may be paper

jammed in another part of the machine. Check all ar eas described in this section

11Raise the document trap.

2Lift up the tabs located on the sides

of the machine and open the front

unit.

2Pull out the toner cassette.

Note

• Be sur e to hold the toner cassette by its handle.

• Keep the toner cassette horizontal to avoid

spilling the toner.
