Setting an Original on the ADF (Type 2 only)

You can load up to 10 sheets of plain paper (80 g/m2 or 20 lb) at a time into

the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).

Important!

Check to make sure that the ADF cover is

securely closed before using it.

1Fan the stack of originals. Never try to

place more than 10 sheets of plain pa-

per onto the ADF.

2Straighten up all four sides of the stack,

by tapping them on a desk or table top.

3Place the stack of originals face down

on the ADF and slide the document

guide against the side of the stack.

Note

The side of the original to be copied should

be face down.

Insert the stack of originals along the

document guide into the ADF.

Note

Insert your stack of originals into the ADF

until it stops. If you do not push it right in,

the machine will not detect the stack.
