Push back the blue paper release lever

located on the right.

Note

The lever releases pressure on the paper. If

you do not push it back, you could damage

the machine when removing paper.

Pull out the misfed paper in the direc-

tions indicated by the arrows in the il-

lustrations.

Note

• If you are using the paper feed unit (op-

tion) and cannot clear the misfeed using this

procedure, use the procedure on page 47

instead.

• Sometimes toner may get on your hands.

Install the toner cassette into the ma-

chine.

Note

• Be sur e to hold the toner cassette by its handle.

• Keep the toner cassette horizontal to avoid

spilling the toner.

Install the starter toner cassette, see page 2.

6Close the top unit.

Note

• If “Clear Paper” is still displayed after you clear

the jam, there may be paper jammed in another

part of the machine. Check all ar eas described

in this section.

Important!

If a paper misfeed occurs during a copy job, make sur e to specify the desir ed copy

quantity again.
