Placing Originals

Non-recommended originals for the Auto Document Feeder

Placing the following types of originals in the ADF can cause paper misfeeds or result in damage to the originals. Place these originals on the exposure glass in-

1 stead.

Originals other than those specified on p.9 “Sizes and Weights of Recom- mended Originals”.

Stapled or clipped originalsPerforated or torn originalsCurled, folded, or creased originalsPasted originals

Originals with any kind of coating, such as thermal fax paper, art paper, alu- minum foil, carbon paper, or conductive paper

Originals with perforated linesOriginals with indexes, tags, or other projecting partsSticky originals such as translucent paperThin originals that have low stiffnessThick originals such as postcardsOriginals of inappropriate weightBound originals such as booksTransparent originals such as OHP transparencies or translucent paper

Note

The original might become dirty if it is written with a pencil or a similar tool.
