Istogramma

Una rappresentazione grafica della luminosità di un'immagine. L'asse orizzontale rappresenta la luminosità, quello verticale il numero di pixel. Punti elevati a sinistra (troppo scuro) e a destra (troppo luminoso) sull'istogramma indicano una foto con un'esposizione non corretta.

HEVC

Formato High-efficiency Video Coding stabilito dagli enti normativi internazionali ISO-IEC e ITU-T. Questo codec è in grado di fornire buona qualità video con poco bitrate.

Sensore immagini

La parte fisica della fotocamera digitale che contiene un photosite per ogni pixel contenuto nell'immagine. Ogni photosite registra la luminosità della luce che lo colpisce durante l'esposizione. Tipi di sensori comuni sono il CCD (Charge-coupled Device) e il CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor).

Un IP Address è un numero unico assegnato a ogni dispositivo connesso a Internet.

Sensibilità ISO

La sensibilità della fotocamera alla luce, in base all'equivalente velocità di pellicola utilizzata in una fotocamera a pellicola. Se si aumentano le impostazioni ISO, la fotocamera può utilizzare un tempo di posa maggiore per ridurre la sfocatura dovuta a vibrazione della fotocamera e a luce scarsa. Tuttavia, le immagini con un'impostazione ISO alta sono più soggette a disturbi.

JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)

Un metodo di compressione con perdita per immagini digitali. Le immagini in JPEG sono compresse per ridurre la dimensione complessiva del file con perdita minima della risoluzione dell'immagine.

Misurazione

La misurazione si riferisce al modo in cui la fotocamera misura la quantità di luce per impostare l'esposizione.

MF (Messa a fuoco manuale)

Un sistema che consente all'obiettivo della fotocamera di mettere a fuoco il soggetto manualmente.
