RAW (Dati CCD raw)

I dati originali, non elaborati, raccolti direttamente dal sensore immagini della fotocamera. Bilanciamento del bianco, contrasto, saturazione, nitidezza e altri dati possono essere manipolati con un software di modifica prima di comprimere l'immagine in un formato file standard.

Risoluzione

Il numero di pixel in un'immagine digitale. Le immagini con risoluzione elevata contengono più pixel e normalmente mostrano più dettagli rispetto alle immagini con risoluzione minore.

Vignettatura

Una riduzione della luminosità o saturazione alla periferia (bordi esterni) di un'immagine rispetto al centro. La vignettatura può spostare l'interesse sui soggetti posizionati al centro di un'immagine.

Bilanciamento del Bianco (bilanciamento colore)

Una regolazione della intensità dei colori (in particolare i colori primari: rosso verde e blu) in un'immagine. L'obiettivo della regolazione del bilanciamento del bianco, o bilanciamento colore, è rendere adeguatamente i colori in un'immagine.

Tempo di posa

Il tempo di posa corrisponde alla quantità di tempo necessaria per aprire e chiudere l'otturatore. È un fattore importante nella luminosità di una foto, in quanto controlla la quantità di luce che attraversa l'apertura prima di raggiungere il sensore immagini. Un tempo di posa rapido consente un tempo minore per l'ingresso della luce. La foto diventa più scura, ma i soggetti in movimento vengono fissati più facilmente.

sRGB (Standard RGB)

Lo standard internazionale per lo spazio colore istituito dalla IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission). Si tratta dello spazio colore definito per i monitor dei PC e viene anche utilizzato come spazio colore standard per Exif.
