If can often be hard to know the bes t way to treat a stubborn st ain. To help with this we’ve
provided you with a few tips on dealing with th e most common types be fore running your wash
cycle.
Alcohol:
Wash the stain in cold water, wipe with glycerine and water and r inse with water mixed with
vinegar.
Shoe Polish:
Scratch out the stain taking care not to d amage the material, rub with detergen t and rinse.
Tea and Coffee:
Stretch the area containing the stain and pour on ho t water.
Chocolate and Cocoa:
Leave your clothes in cold water and rub with so ap or detergent, then wash at a high
temperature.
Tomat o Pas te:
Scrape away the dried pieces, leave in cold wat er for around 30 minutes and hand wash by
rubbing with detergent.
Egg:
Scrape away the dried pieces, clean the st ained area with a cold wet cloth or sponge and ru b
with detergent to wash.
Grease and Oil:
Rub the stain with detergent and then wash in lukewarm s oapy water.
Mustard:
Apply glycerine to the stained area, rub wi th detergent and hand wash.
Blood:
Soak your clothes in cold water for around 30 minute s and then hand wash.
Cream, Ice Cream and Milk
Soak your clothes in cold water and rub the stained ar ea with detergent.
Mould:
Clean the stained area as soon as possible and hand wash wit h detergent.
Ink:
Hold the stained area under cold water and wait until the ink y water completely runs off. Rub
the stain with water and diluted lemon juice, wait 5 minut es before beginning the wash cycle.
Fruit:
Stretch the stained area and pour on cold wat er, apply glycerine and wipe. Wait for 1-2 hours
and rinse after wiping with a few drops of white v inegar.
Grass:
Rub the stained area with detergent befor e washing.
Oil-Based Paint:
Apply paint thinner to the stained area befo re it dries, then rub the area with de tergent and
wash.
