Safety Precautions

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to pro- vide reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipment is op- erated in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instruc- tions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equip- ment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.

Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.

Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.

Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

For Your Safety

The IP telephone optiPoint 410/420 complies with the European standard EN 60 950 which deals with the safety of information technology appliances including electronic office equipment. This device has been designed with safety in mind, thus protecting both indi- viduals and objects.

There is always the danger of small objects being swallowed by young children. In the case of the optiPoint 410/420, this applies in particular to the connecting cord clip.

Please make sure that such items are not accessible to children.

Use only the enclosed power supply together with the special LAN cable.

Never open the power supply enclosure.

Protection of the Telephone

The telephone must not be used in bathrooms, etc. as it is not splashproof.

Before connecting or disconnecting the LAN cable or the headset cord, pull the power plug out of the plug receptacle first.
