Messages

First
Enterthe List menu
by pressing
Select »Messages«
Favourites
Instead of entering your
own message you can make use of
the "Favourites" which are standard
messages already stored in your
phone.You only need to insert the
name,place or time in the empty
spaces.The cursor automatically
points to the first empty space.
Once you have filled this in,you can
move the cursorto the next empty
space simply by pressing »NEXT«.
Broadcasts
Broadcasts are
general messages which are sent
to a group of subscribers,typically
containing local weatherreports,
sports results,etc.
A broadcast message is scrolled
twice overthe display. If you do not
see the message when it is
received,you can read it later on by
selecting »Broadcasts«.
If you do not store a broadcast
message,it will be deleted when
you switch off yourtelephone –
even if the message has not been
read.
In addition to reading a broadcast,
you can select it,press »OPTION«
and:
• delete it
storeit for reading it later on
forward it to another phone
number
• extract a phone number, if any,
to call orstore in your address or
phone books
If you want to receive broadcast
messages,you have to enter the
Setup menu (see p.62) to set up
this feature.
Voice mail
Some networks
offera voice mail function where
you can listen to yourvoice mails
just by selecting the submenu
»Voice mail«.
Othernetworks send you an SMS
message when you receive a new
voice mail,and you will then have to
call yournetwork operator’s voice
mail numberto listen to it.
Facts & Tips
• If you have selected Roaming,i.e. if
you are abroad and connected to a
foreign network,you may be able to
receive broadcasts from othernet-
works,too.
• The phone will show the broadcast
ID number,allowing you to identify
the kind of message received.
• The phone will show on which line
yourvoice mail is located.
