Background Time:

Background time, in seconds. Enter a value between 20 and 10,000.

Background Method:

Two methods of background count are incorporated in the BM-286A. They are selectable from the Set-Up Menu. The Rolling background method is the standard for TSA products. For a count time of N seconds, the count is updated every N/10 seconds, and the sum of the last 10 count periods are averaged to determine the current background. The Standard background method simply counts for N seconds.
