6.2. FAULT ISOLATION
When the program is executing on the NT machine there are two small dark green boxes in the lower left hand of the display.
The top box should flash light green every second. This indicates that the DOS machine has sent data to the NT machine.
The bottom box should flash light green upon receiving data from the scale controller. This occurs when the door is closed or once a second when in the Utilities menu, show detector and scale, are being displayed.
If the system fails to operate properly, note all anomalies, and try to determine if or how they are related. This will usually isolate the problem to some degree, and reduce the time required to repair the system. Always perform a thorough visual inspection of the suspect assemblies, looking for loose connectors, pinched and broken wires, burned components, and signs of overheating. If nothing is found during the physical inspection, locate the problem area in the following paragraphs, and isolate the defective assembly using the appropriate procedure.
NOTE:
Always turn the power off when connecting or disconnecting components or cables.
After repairing the system, perform a calibration as outlined in Calibration (section 5.2.).
