Change to the twin needle.

Turn handwheel counter clockwise until the needle is in the highest position.

Insert the vertical spool pin into the opening to the left of the bobbin winder.

Slide thread onto horizontal spool pin. Secure thread in place with either the large or small spool pin holder, depending on the size of your thread spool.
