Selects the HQ mode used for recording on the HDD (page 48).

Colour System
Selects the colour system when playing VIDEO CDs (including Super VIDEO CDs).
PAL | Plays a disc in PAL colour system. |

Screen Saver
The screen saver image appears when you do not use the recorder for more than 10 minutes while an
On | Turns on the screen saver function. |

Speaker Settings (Speaker)
The “Speaker” setup allows you to adjust the speaker system (speaker positions, loudness, etc.).
Note
Check that the subwoofer is turned on, and that the system cord is connected securely.
1 Press SYSTEM MENU while the recorder is in stop mode.
2 Select “SETUP,” and press ENTER.
3 Select “Speaker,” and press ENTER.
The “Speaker” setup appears.

4 Select an item.
“Size”: Selects the surround speaker position, etc. (page 101).
“Distance”: Sets the speaker distance from the listening position (page 101).
“Level”: Sets the speaker level (page 102).
“Test Tone”: Emits the test tone for adjusting the individual speaker levels (page 102).
5 Press ENTER.
Options for the selected item appear (see below). The default settings are underlined.
6 Select an option, and press ENTER.
