You can adjust the level of each surround speakers as follows. Be sure to set “TEST TONE” to “ON” for easy adjustment.

TEST TONE (DHC-AZ55D only)8)

OFF: The test tone is not emitted from the speakers.

ON: The test tone is emitted from each speaker in sequence.

The test tone is emitted from the selected speakers when you select “LEVEL (FRONT)” or “LEVEL (SURROUND)”.

1Press ///repeatedly to select the desired speaker or the level.

2Press ENTER .

3Repeat step 1 and 2. Press /// repeatedly to set “TEST TONE” to “OFF” when you have finished adjusting the speaker level.

1)To return to the default setting when changing a setting, press CLEAR before you press ENTER . However, note that you cannot return the setting of “CONNECTION” to default setting. Note that you cannot perform “SPEAKER SETUP” when you connect headphones or microphones to the unit.

2)Depending on the settings of other speakers, the subwoofer may output excessive sound.

3)The items that are set to “NONE” in “CONNECTION” cannot be selected. When you perform “QUICK” setup (page 30), the default settings are changed.

4)If each left and right speakers are not placed at an equal distance from your listening position, set the distance according to the closest speaker.

5)The setting range changes depending on the front speaker setting.

6)The items that are set to “NONE” in “CONNECTION” cannot be selected.

7)This setting cannot be selected when “SURROUND” is set to “NONE” in the “CONNECTION” setting.

8)When you adjust the speaker settings, the sound may cut off for a moment.
