To install a memory module

1Shut down your computer and disconnect all peripheral devices, such as your printer.

2Unplug the computer and remove the battery packs.

3Wait until the computer cools down. Then unscrew the five screws with the ● mark on the bottom of your computer.

4Slide the LCD lock lever and lift the cover. Slide the keyboard toward the LCD display, then lift it away slightly.

5Lift the keyboard from the LCD display side, then gently turn it over on the space where the touchpad is. Be careful not to detach the cable when lifting the keyboard.

6If you are adding memory to the PCG-Z505HS, you must remove the existing memory module. Follow the instructions in “To remove a memory module” on page 62.

7Remove the memory module from its packaging.

8Install the memory module. Be careful not to touch the other components of the motherboard.
