MULTI CH IN/DIRECT
Press MULTI CH IN/DIRECT to enjoy the audio source connected to the MULTI CH IN 1 or 2 jacks or analog 2 channel input jacks. Only volume control and the front speaker balance can be adjusted when set to ANALOG DIRECT. When set to MULTI 1 or 2 DIRECT, you can adjust balance and level of all the speakers. When this function is on, the surround effects are turned off.

MULTI CHANNEL DECODING indicator
This indicator lights up when the unit is decoding signals recorded in a multi channel format.
MUTING
Press MUTING on the remote to mute the sound. Press again to cancel the muting function. The muting function is also canceled when you turn the power on or turn the MASTER VOLUME to turn the volume up.
PHONES
Use to connect headphones.
•When the headphones are connected, speaker output is automatically canceled and “SP.A” and “SP.B” do not light up in the display.
•When the headphones are connected, selectable sound fields are HP (2CH), HP (DIRECT), HP (MULTI 1 or 2) and HP (THEATER) (page 31).
Note
When “HP (MULTI 1 or 2)” appears in the display while the headphones are connected, only the L/R signals of the multi channels are output from the headphones.
SPEAKERS (OFF/A/B/A+B)
Press SPEAKERS (OFF/A/B/A+B) to output the sound from the speakers connected to the SPEAKERS FRONT terminals.
Each time you press the button, the display will light up cyclically as follows:
