When connecting the Network Media Receiver and the computer as shown above, the following settings must be configured:

Assign a fixed IP address to the computer (this page).

Select an IP address allocation method for the Network Media Receiver (page 33).

Assigning a fixed IP address to the computer

When the Network Media Receiver is connected via a network cable in one of the system environments listed below, a fixed IP address must be assigned to the computer.

Do not use this system configuration if the system environment includes a router (or a router with built-in hub).

1On the computer, click “Start” on the Windows taskbar, and click “My Computer” to display the “My Computer” window.

2Click “More” and “My Network Places”.

The “My Network Places” window appears.

3Click “Show Network Connections”.

The “Network Connections” window appears.

4Right-click “Local Area Connection”, and click “Properties”.

The “Local Area Connection Properties” window appears.
