5.2 Flash synch speed

Sony digital cameras permit flash shots to be taken at all shutter speeds. Synchronisation for flash operation is therefore not necessary. Should, however, the maximum output or guide number be required for picture shooting, the camera’s shutter speed must not be faster than 1/125 sec.

5.3Correct exposure confirmation on the mecablitz

When the mecablitz is operated in the TTL or Auto A mode an LED on the mecablitz will light up for approx. 3 seconds as a visual „OK“ signal to con- firm correct flash exposure.

Some flash units (mecablitz 40 MZ-3, 40 MZ-3i, 50 MZ-5, 54 MZ-..., 70 MZ-5) transmit an acoustic signal (beep) in addition to the visual one. Please refer to the operating instructions for the given mecablitz model.

The camera does not give a correct exposure confirmation.

5.4Manual flash exposure correction

There are certain photographic situations where the light sensor can be deceived. This is particular- ly the case with a dark subject in front of a bright background (the subject will be underexposed; a positive correction value is required) or a bright subject in front of a dark background (the subject will be overexposed; a negative correction value is required). To overcome this problem in such a pho- tographic situation and still achieve a correct expo- sure, the flash intensity can be influenced during flash operation.
