If the auto flash mode A is set on the meca- blitz, this feature will produce the effect of a fill-in flash in daylight.

5.9AF illuminator control

The AF illuminator built into the camera is activated by the camera electronics when the ambient lighting conditions are insufficient for automatic focusing. Not support an AF illuminator or AF mea- suring beam of an external flash unit (e.g. meca- blitz).

5.10 Motor zoom control

Sony digital cameras do not transmit any data for adjustment of the mecablitz reflector to the zoom position of the camera lens.

mecablitz 40 MZ-..., 44 MZ-2, 50 MZ-5, 54 MZ-...

and 70 MZ-... :

Switching on the flash unit automatically activates the „Auto Zoom“ mode and causes the reflector to be set to its 28 mm position (shortest focal length of zoom lens). This 28 mm reflector position can be maintained for the complete zoom range of the camera lens.

mecablitz 32 MZ-3:

The setting slide for the zoom reflector on the mecablitz must be adjusted to position „CZ“ or „28 mm“. The 28 mm reflector position can be maintained for the complete zoom range of the camera lens.

mecablitz 45 CL-4 / 60 CT-4:

The mecablitz reflector provides flash coverage for focal lengths from 35 mm onward (35 mm format).
