If the ASF is not operatingor is not feeding paper correctly, check the following:

Has the ASF option been selected with the DIP switch?
he release lever set to the uosition?
1s- the ASF correctly mounted?
Is paper caught up neiw the printhead?
Are the left andright guides too close together?
Is theretoo muchpaperin the paperfeedhopperorstacker?
Was thepaperfannedbefore being fed into the ASF?
Has the paperbeen used al- ready or is it creased?
Are you tryingto feed paper using the frontpanel buttons while the ON LINE indicator is illuminated?
Is the papertoo thick or too ~in?
Possibleremedy
Selectthisoption.
Therelease lever should be set to the
MakesurethattheASFisproperly seatedontheprinter.
Stopprinting,remove thejarnmedsheet (you mayhave to remove the ASF for this), andcontinue.
If the left and right gui&s are too close together, the paperwill not feed smoothly.Move thema little further atmrtto allow the Dawr to feed ffeelv.
The ASF’Spaperfed hopperandstackercan hold 50 sheets each. Make surethatthereis no morepaperthan this in either the hoooer or stacker.
If this is not don%paperjams may occur. Remove the stack of paperfrom the ASF andfan it before reinsert- ilw.
Ordy new, uncressed paper should be used with the ASF.
