NLoosen screw (1) on carrier (2).

NCarefully pull the carrier (2) off the rope rotor (3).

Replacing a Broken Starter Rope

NPry the cap out of the starter grip.

NRemove the remaining rope from the rotor and starter grip.

NPull out the starter rope about 15 cm and hold the rope rotor steady.

NTake three turns off the rope rotor.

NPull the rope out with the starter grip and keep it under tension – then let go of the rope rotor.

NSlowly release the starter rope until it goes slack.

The rewind spring is no longer under tension when the starter rope is not wound completely onto the rope rotor and can be unwound by hand.

NCarefully remove the rope rotor (3).

WARNING

The rewind spring may pop out and uncoil during this operation – take care to avoid the risk of injury.

NThread the new rope through the starter grip and tie a simple overhand knot.

NPull the knot back into the grip. N Refit the cap in the grip.
