■If during any stage of memory testing the BIOS finds itself incapable of reading/writing to the DIMM, it takes the following actions:

■The BIOS disables the DIMM as indicated by the Memory Decreased message in the example in EXAMPLE D-1.

■The BIOS logs an SEL record.

■The BIOS logs an event in DMI.
