C-2 Installing Windows XP/2000/2003 for RAID Systems

Installing a New Operating System-the Windows XP/2000/2003 OS

a. Insert Micros oft's Windows XP/200 0/2003 Setup CD in the CD Dr iver, and the

system will start booting up from CD.

b. Press the <F6> key wh en the message-" Press F6 if you need to instal l a third

party SCSI or R AID driver" displays.

c. When the Windows XP /2000/2003 Set up screen appears, press "S" to speci fy

additional device(s).

d. Insert the driver disket te-"Intel AA R AID XP/2000/20 03 Driver for ICH9 R into

Drive A: and press the < Enter> key.

e. Select the Intel (R)82801GR /GH SATA RAID Controller from the list indicated

in the XP/200 0/2003 Setup Screen, and press t he <Enter> key.

f. Press the <Enter> key to co ntinue the installation pr ocess. (If you need to

specify any additional devices to be installed, do it at this time.) Once all devices

are speciﬁ ed, press the <Enter> key to continue with the installation.

g. From the Windows XP/2 000/2 003 Setup screen, pre ss the <Enter> key. The

XP/2000 /2003 Setup will automatica lly load all device ﬁ les and then, continue the

Windows XP/2000/2003 installation.

h. After the Windows X P/2000 /2003 Instal lation is completed, the syst em will

automatically reboot.

i. Insert the Super micro Setup CD that came w ith the package into the CD D rive

during system reboot, and the main screen will appear.

Note: the current version of th e ICH9R SATA RAID Utilit y can only support t he

Windows XP/20 00/20 03 Operating System.
