Tips for the best results of speed measurement

The average speed of a run corresponds very well with the real average speed as long as the measured slope is close to the average angle of the slope.

Because of the calculation algorithm, Suunto S6 usually records the top speed on the steepest part of the slope. If this part is clearly steeper than the measured average slope angle, the recorded top speed is higher than the real top speed. If you are more interested in measuring the correct top speed than the average speed, use the angle of the steepest part of the slope.

If you want to compare speeds with your friends, make sure that you all have the same slope angle before the run.

3.6.2. Memory

You can use Memory to view the files saved in the memory of your Suunto S6 with the SkiChrono and Chrono functions. You can also use it to erase files when you wish to free some memory space. The memory can include up to 40 SkiChrono files and 15 Chrono files. Each Chrono file can include 20 Split/lap times. SkiChrono files do not have Split/lap times.
