System Clocking

Master Clock

When configured with an IF-FW/DM MKII, the mixer must be the master clock relative to the computer DAW. The mixer itself may be clocked to an external source other than the DAW.

Clock Settings

When switching the clock rate of the mixer, or of any external device that is the clock master in your system, the following steps are required for correct operation:

1.Stop any audio playing from the DAW or computer.

2.Close the DAW application.

3.Change the sample rate on the mixer (or external clock source)

4.Re-launch the DAW application.

96k & 88.2k Operation

The IF-FW/DM MKII supports the full 32x32 input output configuration at high sampling rates. This will put extra strain on your computer’s CPU and OS, so a higher latency audio buffer setting or an Input/Output setting of 16 channels may be required. For these sampling rates, TASCAM recommends the following computer specifications:

Windows

2GHz Pentium® 4 or higher.

1GByte Memory

Mac

Any G5 PPC Mac, or Intel Mac 1.5 GHz or higher.

1GByte Memory.
