Rise Time
Thisprocedureverifies that the probemeetsrisetimespecifications.
Tworise times are measured; the test system,and thetestsystem
withtheprobeincluded.Theproberisetime is calculated using the
twomeasurements.
1. Connect the test equipment as shown in Figure 20.

2. Adjustthe oscilloscopevertical sensitivity to 50 mV/div.
3. Turn on the TDR pulse on the SD-24 orT DS8000(Ch 2).
4. Adjustthe oscilloscopevertical positioning to center the signal on
screen.
5. Adjustthe oscilloscopehorizontal sensitivity to 500 ps/div.
6. Adjustthe oscilloscopehorizontal positioning to place the rising
edge of the signal where it crosses the second vertical and center
horizontal graticule lines.
7. Usetheoscilloscopemeasurement capability to display rise time.
Risetimeis determinedfromthe 10% and 90% amplitude points
onthewaveform.Recordtherisetime as ts.
