CD-RW/DVD-ROM

Some models are equipped with a full-size,

 

drive

CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive module that lets you

 

 

run CD/DVDs without using an adaptor. It reads

 

 

DVD-ROMs at maximum 8 speed and CD-ROMs

 

 

at maximum 24 speed. It writes CD-R at up to 24

 

 

speed and CD-RW at up to 10 speed. See

 

 

Chapter 4, Operating Basics, for details. For

 

 

reading, this drive supports the same formats as

 

 

the DVD-ROM drive.

 

 

 

 

 

DVD Multi drive

Some models are equipped with a full-size

 

 

DVD Multi drive that lets you read/write DVD-R,

 

 

DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, CD-R and CD-RW discs.

 

 

DVD Multi media can be read, written and

 

 

erased with random access like a diskette.

 

 

Data can be rewritten hundreds of thousands

 

 

of times over the life of a disc. For reading, this

 

 

drive supports the same formats as the DVD-

 

 

ROM drive. Refer to chapter 2, The Grand Tour,

 

 

for details.

 

 

 

 

Display

The computer’s LCD panel supports high-resolution video graphics. The screen can be set at a wide range of viewing angles for maximum comfort and readability.

sizes: 14.1" XGA-TFT, 1024 horizontal x 768

 

vertical pixels

 

 

Graphics controller

Graphics controller maximizes display

Keyboard

85 keys or 86 keys, compatible with IBM

 

enhanced keyboard, embedded numeric overlay,

 

dedicated cursor control, and keys. See

AccuPoint II

Built-in

A pointing device, the AccuPoint II, in the center

 

of the keyboard and control buttons at the base

 

of the keyboard enable control of the on-screen

 

pointer and scrolling of windows.
