5.Thread the screw IV_ into thecable ad-
juster (X).
6. Hookthe cable spring (W,Fig.2-6) into
theV-shaoed bend in the ForwardClutch
Bail_Y).
7.Checkfor correcttension onthe forward
drivebelt by taking two measurementsof
thecable spnng, asfollows:
a. With the ForwardClutch Bail(Y, Fig.2-
6/in an open (released) position, measure
thelength of thecable spring (W from the
outermost coilto the outermost coil.
n.SqueezetheForward ClutchBail against
thehandlebar (see Fig. 2-7_and re-mea-
surethe spring length, The belt tension is
correctif this second measurement is be-
tween1/16"to 3/16"longer than the first
measurement. If so. turn the hex nut (Z.
Fig.2-7) tightly againstthe cable adjuster
(X_while preventingthe cable adjuster
from turnmg.
c. Ifthe spring length is incorrect,you
mustadjust the cabletension as described

STEP5: INSTALL REVERSE CLUTCH
CABLE(MODELS 634F & 634B ONLY)
1. Unwrapthe reverseclutch cable (CC.
Fig.2-8 and Fig. 2-9_from itsshipping po-
sitionand route it up to the handlebar. Be
surethat the cableis routed beneaththe
in CheckingandAdjustin_ Forward Drive ForwardClutch Bail.

2. Usingthe two self-tapping screws (AA,
Fig.2-8) securethe reversecable mount-
ing bracket(BB)to the handlebars,as

3.Insertthe cable (CC,Fig.2-8) throughthe
slotin thecable bracketandposition the flat
sideof the threadedassemblynext to the
flat sideof the hole. Slide the hexnut (DD/
upthe cable andtighten it securely
4. Fastenthe reverseclutch cable to the
leftside handlebarwith a cable tie (EE,Fig.
2-9L
5.Testthe function ofthe reverseclutch by
pulling out andreleasing the cable knob.
Theknob should return to its neutral posi-
tion (resting against bracketL If it doesn't.
