NOTE: Always allow adequate clearance around air openings into the combustion chamber and maintain accessibility clearances for servicing and proper operation.
2.1 General Safety (Home Owner)
Cleaning. To clean the appliance, make sure it is off and cold. Then remove the logs and use a vacuum to clean the burner and air openings in the bottom and back of the appliance. Replace the logs.
Fire Extinguisher. Every home should have at least one fire extinguisher. An approved Class
Smoke Detectors & Carbon Monoxide Detectors. Install at least one smoke detector on each floor of your home to ensure your safety. It should be located away from the gas appliance and close to the sleeping areas. Follow the smoke detector manufacturer’s placement installation and maintenance instructions. Your local Fire Department may provide assistance in selecting smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. It is strongly recommended, for your family’s protection, that a carbon monoxide detector be placed in all homes that utilize gas in any form.
3.1 Planning Your Installation
Please note the following key points regarding the location of your appliance:
•A sufficient gas pressure is required to supply the unit with a minimum inlet pressure.
•Allow adequate accessibility clearances for servicing and proper operation.
•Allow adequate clearance to combustibles and around air openings for combustion.
•A suitable power outlet is required to provide power when fitted with a fan.
