Cleaning and Maintenance
WARNING

CAUTION
Donot touchthe exteriorportionsof the ovenafter self-cleaning
cyclehas begun,since someparts becomeextremelyhot to the
touch!Duringthe firstfew timesthe self-cleaningfeatureisused,
theremay be some odor and smokingfrom the curingof the
binderin thehigh-densityinsulationused inthe oven. Whenthe
insulationis thoroughlycured, this odorwill disappear.During
subsequent self-cleaning cycles, you may sense an odor
characteristic of high temperatures. Keep the kitchen well-
ventedduringthe self-cleaningcycle.
BrassPartsBroilerPan and Grid
Clean withdetergent and hotwater. For stubborn spots,use a
soap-filledsteel wool pad.
OvenRacks
Clean with detergent and hot water. Stubborn spots can be
scouredwith a soap-filledsteelwool pad. DONOT CLEANTHE
OVEN RACKS USING THE SELF-CLEAN CYCLE. They could
sustaindamage due tothe extreme heatof the Self-Cleancycle.
Theoven racksupports aredesignedto remain in theoven during
theSelf-Cleancycle.
MeatProbe
Themeat probe may becleaned with soapand water or a soap-
filled scouring pad. Cool the probe before cleaning. Scour
stubbornspotswith a soap-filledscouringpad, rinseand dry.
•Do not immersethe meat probein water.
•Do not store theprobe in the oven.
Beforestartingthe Self-Cleancycle:
1. Removethe ovenracks, and any otheritems/utensilsfrom the
oven.The high heat generatedduring thecleaning cycle can
discolor, warp, and damage these items. The oven rack
supportsare designedto remain in the ovenduring the Self-
Cleancycle.Donot use foilor liners inthe oven.During theSelf-
Cleancyclefoil can burnor melt and damagethe ovensurface.
2. Wipeoffany largespills fromthe oven bottomand sides.Never
use oven cleaners inside a self-cleaningoven or on raised
portionsofthe door.
3. Someareas of the ovenmust be cleanedby hand before the
cycle begins. Soils inthese areas will be bakedon and very
difficultto cleanif not removedfirst. Clean thedoor up to the
gasket,thedoor frame,and upto 2 inches insidethe framewith
detergentandhot water.Rinse thoroughlyand dry.

DONOT USEBRASS CLEANERSORABRASIVECLEANERSON
ANY BRASS PARTS. All brass body parts shouldbe wiped
regularlywith hotsoapy water. Whenhot soapywater will not
do the job, useevery day household cleaners that are not
abrasive.
